About Georgie

I was born in Gibraltar while my English parents were living in southern Spain. Despite living by the sea in beautiful sunny Spain, I was immersed in English customs and traditions, growing up with a strong sense of British heritage. Among these, afternoon tea became a favorite and, as it turns out, a memorable highlight throughout my childhood. To this day, nothing surpasses the simple pleasure of indulging in English scones, shortbread, a little cream, jam and some lemon curd.

Although afternoon tea at boarding school didn’t quite match the delightful experience of my weekends with either my Grandmother or Aunt, which were always so scrumptious. It was during those visits, I developed a deep appreciation for their simple yet delicious recipes. These cherished recipes have now become the heart of Georgie’s English Kitchen, allowing me to share a wonderful English tradition of afternoon tea along with gourmet desserts incorporating the shortbread or lemon curd.

I’m passionate about baking, it's an incredible gift I’ve inherited from my maternal Grandmother. Baking is a process of both science and art, requiring precision, attention to detail, creativity, patience and ultimately pure joy! The process of producing these simple handmade recipes from both sides of my family starts with great recipes, followed by selecting the finest ingredients, carefully assembling and mixing them accurately, and concluding with precise temperatures whether baking or cooking. All of which have been made with a love for great tradition and being able to share a moment of pure deliciousness for everyone to enjoy!

Dedicated to Quality

My dedication to handmade quality products is evident in every step of the process, from individually weighing and hand-scoring shortbread to hand-cutting and weighing each scone. Conscientious customers appreciate my commitment to quality goods, practices, attention to detail, and value my products in terms of taste, and healthiness.

My awareness of ingredient selection and production methods not only enhances the flavor and quality of my products but also aligns with consumers who prefer natural, additive-free, and ethically sourced foods.

Working with fresh lemons, where each one is zested and squeezed by hand, ensures that your lemon curd captures the true essence of the fruit. Monitoring each small batch temperature and acidity levels ensures preservative free, consistency and safety in each of the products. This meticulous approach not only guarantees quality but also reflects a dedication to creating exceptional goods. The techniques used result in products that stand out for their freshness, flavor and unique handmade touch.

Sustainably Delicious

As a mother of three amazing children and now a grandmother of five incredible grandchildren, I am now more committed than ever to the future generations. Every product has been thoughtfully packaged with sustainability in mind, ensuring the product’s tradition and integrity, whilst being kind to future generations and environmentally friendly. Beautiful square glass jars are used for the Fresh Lemon Curd. Clear plant-based bags with paper raffia ties are used for the Shortbread and Assorted Scones and either plant-based or recycled bakery boxes paper for the gourmet desserts.

Georgie’s English Kitchen prefers using Plant-based packaging materials made from either cornstarch or sugarcane fibers. While a little more expensive, they are biodegradable and break down naturally without leaving harmful residues in the environment. Choosing plant-based packaging reduces the reliance on traditional plastics derived from fossil fuels. This helps alleviate the global plastic pollution problem and typically Plant-based materials have a lower carbon footprint compared to conventional plastics, contributing to lower greenhouse gas emissions.
